Happy May Day

A little Googling on the Internet this morning told me many countries celebrate some version of May Day.
Here in the U.S., it was celebrated by some early European settlers. In some parts, May baskets are made. They are small and usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someone's doorstep.
The basket giver rings the bell and runs away. The person receiving the basket tries to catch the fleeing giver.
Years ago, a couple little girls in the neighborhood where I lived would leave flowers on doorsteps each year on May 1. Although I always knew who did it, I never let on. It was better to allow them to have fun and think they were pulling one over on me!
It was sweet of them and I miss that moment early every May 1 when my doorbell would ring and I would open the door to that precious little bouquet.
For you, my readers, I leave this pretty bunch of flowers for your May Day. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by, Wendy. Ya know, I just love your little Eeyore!
One thing I forgot to mention in my post is those little girls grew up and so did my own children. Today, those two young ladies are my 5-year-old grandson's second cousins!
