Steelers Glory

By Alan Ross

From the back of the book:

Five Super Bowl victories, six conference championships, fifteen Hall of Famers. The Pittsburgh Steelers have traveled down a legendary highway as they enter their seventy-fourth season in the NFL. This is the story of Pittsburgh Steelers football as told by the players, coaches, opponents, fans and the media.

Just my opinion:

When you read the above, you may question whether or not those awesome stats are correct. Well, not exactly. After all, this book was written in 2006 and since then, the Steelers have added to their list of accomplishments.

I’ll admit, I’m a die-hard Steelers fan from way back. Having grown up in the Midwest, they were the team to cheer for. You couldn’t deny the talent that was found on the field and they were such a formidable foe for the other teams.

Alan Ross does an excellent job of pulling together quotes from team members, coaches, fans, other teams and more to explain how this team became so phenomenal. He throws in a little history, as well as stats for certain key players, just to keep things moving along and informative. The result is a first-rate book about a first-rate football team that any sports fan will enjoy.
